Can I pursue an Indian claim without travelling to India?
Much of the process can be run remotely: assessment, documents, calls and decisions. Advocates attend on the ground. Some steps may need your personal presence or formalities depending on the court and the matter, and we plan to keep travel to a minimum.
Do I need to give a power of attorney?
Often an authorised representative in India is useful. A power of attorney signed abroad has to meet attestation and stamping requirements to be valid in India. Your advocate will advise on the correct procedure for your country.
What does funding cover?
For eligible claims, legal and enforcement costs are covered under the funding arrangement. Under non-recourse terms the funded costs are not repaid if there is no recovery. LegalFund is paid from an agreed share of any recovery.
Who are the advocates, and do I stay in control?
The pursuit is managed through empanelled advocates in India. You remain the claimant and take the key decisions, including settlement.
How do I get recovered money out of India?
Repatriation of recoveries is subject to foreign exchange rules and your banking arrangements. Speak to your bank and tax adviser about the route that suits you.
What size of claim do you fund?
We focus on strong claims of ₹1 crore and above.
